Visa, a leader in global payments, announced a significant expansion in its digital activities by adding support for four new stablecoins on its settlement platform, after experiencing a record surge in demand for stablecoin-linked card services in recent months.
During the fourth-quarter earnings call, CEO Ryan McInerney revealed that spending by holders of Visa cards linked to stablecoins has quadrupled compared to last year, noting that the company will support four stablecoins operating on four different blockchain networks, representing two fiat currencies that can be converted into more than 25 traditional currencies.
