Number of Foreign-Owned Companies in Russia Drops by 35% – Intelligence
Russia has experienced a sharp decline in foreign business presence since the start of its full-scale war against Ukraine, according to Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service.
The number of companies with foreign capital in Russia has fallen by 35.5%, to 14,300 as of April 2026, the agency reported.
Although 1,657 new companies have been registered over the past four years, this has been far outweighed by a large-scale withdrawal. During the same period, more than 10,800 foreign-owned enterprises have ceased operations in the country.
