When the Earth Shakes, Values Must Speak Louder

Today, a powerful earthquake struck Tajori, Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, shaking homes and hearts alike. In moments like these, fear reminds us how fragile life is, and how close we are to uncertainty.

Alongside this, continuous rain has been falling for almost the last 7 days, and we are praying for safety, relief, and mercy from Allah for our people. These moments should bring us closer to reflection, not distraction.

Yet, it is painful to see that some celebrations have drifted far from the dignity of our roots. In parts of Pashtun society today, weddings are marked by loud DJ sounds, fireworks, and unnecessary noise—even when the surroundings are filled with hardship.

Today, during Namaz-e-Jumma, the Molana Sahib clearly requested that if there is a wedding or engagement, then offer congratulations—but for the sake of Allah, avoid loud music, DJ sounds, and disturbance to others.

Our history is rooted in honor, discipline, and simplicity. In times of crisis, silence, prayer, and sensitivity carry more strength than noise. Let us return to our values before we lose them completely.
