Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has just brought good news to the community: Stablecoin Ripple USD (RLUSD) has been officially approved by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS).
NYDFS Approval: Long-Awaited Good News
On social network X, Brad Garlinghouse announced:
“We have received final approval from NYDFS for RLUSD. Listings on exchanges and partners will be announced soon.”
At The Block’s Emergence conference in Prague, Ripple CTO David Schwartz revealed RLUSD could launch before the end of the year.
This approval marks a major milestone, bringing Ripple closer to its goal of deploying the RLUSD stablecoin.

RLUSD was announced by Ripple in April 2024, with a design that operates on both the XRP Ledger and the Ethereum blockchain.
After a testing phase since August, the approval paves the way for the token's launch.
