🚫 Why I am NOT in favor of Drex, Brazil's digital currency 🇧🇷

Drex, the official digital currency of the Central Bank, promises to modernize the Brazilian financial system. But are we prepared for the challenges it brings? 🤔

💬 My reasons for not supporting Drex:

1️⃣ Privacy at Risk:
With Drex, all transactions can be tracked by the government. This raises serious concerns about surveillance and lack of financial privacy.

2️⃣ Digital Exclusion:
Not all Brazilians have access to the internet or devices to use Drex. This may increase financial exclusion, instead of solving it.

3️⃣ Technological Dependence:
The system is subject to cyberattacks and technical failures. Furthermore, relying so heavily on a digital currency may leave us vulnerable to technological crises.

4️⃣ Government Control:
Drex could give the government more control over how we use our money, limiting our financial freedom.

5️⃣ Impact on Banks:
The adoption of Drex could weaken commercial banks, reducing the supply of credit and creating financial instability.

🔍 What can we do?
It is important to discuss the implications of Drex and demand transparency and security before accepting such significant changes.

💡 I prefer decentralized alternatives, such as traditional cryptocurrencies, which offer financial freedom without the centralized control of a government.
