Since launching the platform at the YGG Gaming Summit, the Guild Advancement Program (GAP) has made new history in Season 8 with the first wave of on-chain guilds joining. Participants can now undertake tasks in the name of an on-chain guild, competing on the guild leaderboard while coordinating their work to earn more rewards.

This season attracted a total of 21,452 explorers, of which 95% completed and submitted at least one expedition, an increase of 161% over the previous season. Players explored a variety of games, including Anichess, Arena of Faith, Blast Royale, Champions Tactics, GensoKishi Online, Immortal Rising 2, Maplestory Universe, Parallel, Pixels, RavenQuest, Space Nation, and The Mystery Society. In terms of bounty tasks, YGG Future of Work (FoW) had the most registrations as participants participated in the latest platform after the merger of Web3, AI, and DePIN.

GAP Season 8 will run from November 15, 2024 to January 8, 2025, with an appeal window extended to January 31, 2025. Participants who have collected YGG points in Season 7 can continue their map progress in the Reward Center. They can also receive coefficient inflation through The Stake House, which increases YGG and partner token rewards.

On-chain Guild Platform Debuts

At the YGG Play Summit, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon and Base creator Jesse Pollak jointly announced that on-chain guilds will be launched on the Base blockchain. GAP Season 8 is a trial run for on-chain guilds.

YGG has selected a group of active and mature guilds in the community and newer global guild partners. The first group of guilds tested the on-chain guild platform and GAP guild tasks and provided useful feedback to the team. The YGG team thanks these guilds for their early support for this plan.

A total of 75 guilds successfully registered, of which 49 registered and completed at least one guild task. The on-chain guilds competed for the most points, and the rankings continued to rise. The top-ranked guilds will receive token rewards. Among all the guilds on the GAP rankings, the NFT X-Street guild completed the most tasks in GAP Season 8, making history.

Guild Quests enable on-chain guilds to compete in the following games and platforms:

  • Arena of Faith

  • Basement.fun

  • Blast Royale

  • Champions Tactics

  • Immortal Rising II

  • Mystery Society

  • Space Nation

New GAP game takes center stage with AI bounty quests

Seven highly anticipated games made their GAP debuts this quarter: Anichess, Blast Royale, Champions Tactics, Immortal Rising 2, MapleStory Universe, RavenQuest, and Space Nation.

Last November, the YGG Play Summit Anichess competition showcased the magic of the collaboration between Animoca Brands and Chess.com, with Anichess attracting 12,700 mission registrations at the end of GAP Season 8. This was followed by mobile battle game Blast Royale with 9,600 registrations, while Dark Fantasy RPG Immortal Rising 2 had 9,200 registrations.

YGG FOW had the most signups for bounty tasks, with more than 8,600 people signing up for the Navigate task line to explore its data tags and DePIN platform. Compared to the previous GAP season, the number of players completing non-game tasks increased by 227%. FoW partner Sapien also returned to GAP, while newcomer Copute introduced its GPU-focused Web3 DePIN protocol to taskers.

The YGGPilipinas online activity quest line had the second-highest number of bounty participants at 3,300, followed by the Welcome to Basement.fun quest at 3,100.

Other bounties in Season 8 involve game-related and mission-oriented tasks, including game testing, content creation, community operations, and promoting Web3 education through Metaversity. This season also includes tasks for regional guild partner platforms and gaming ecosystems, including OLA GG, W3GG, KGeN, YGG Vietnam, YGG China, and Game7. Community members who attend the YGG Play Summit can also complete special rewards for the event.

In-depth participation rewards

Explorers in GAP Season 8 can continue their progress in the Reward Center from the previous season by completing tracks on the reward map by maximizing activities. In addition, nearly 1,500 explorers have staked more than 765,000 YGG tokens in the “Staking Center”, multiplying their token rewards.

GAP is an evolving experiment. The introduction of new initiatives and features such as guilds and guild missions creates more opportunities for players to play together, allowing players to participate more deeply in community activities while earning more rewards. As these features and platforms continue to improve, YGG hopes that more communities will form on-chain guilds, ready to take on game challenges and bounties, and achieve every achievement in the future development of on-chain guilds.
