The YGG Gaming Summit brought together gamers, creators, developers, and founders from around the world to Manila, Philippines, from November 19-23, 2024. Attendees participated in numerous activities, including a gaming expo showcasing highly anticipated games such as RIFTSTORM, Captain Laserhawk, and Star Atlas. Esports tournaments were held throughout the week, including the $100,000 Parallel Championship, which YGG esports player Zeliaser eventually won.

The summit’s Industry Day featured fireside chats and panel discussions with founders and leading developers in the Web2 and Web3 space. On-chain Guilds on the Base Chain

At the summit’s Industry Day, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon and Base founder Jesse Pollak announced that “On-Chain Guilds” will be launched on the Base chain. YGG invited a group of established and emerging guild partners to try out the platform. The first batch of “On-Chain Guilds” completed the guild tasks of GAP Season 8, climbing the task leaderboard to obtain more generous rewards.

As of the end of December, 75 communities have registered as "on-chain guilds", with a total group wallet value of nearly $750,000. Some of these guilds participated in GAP guild missions, and 49 "on-chain guilds" signed up for at least one mission. Among the 11 guilds that made it to the GAP Season 8 leaderboard, Sando Gang topped the list.

Future of work booms

YGG Future of Work (FoW) released a series of videos that outlined the project’s vision and the impact each FoW partner could have on the YGG community. This quarter, the project took a prominent role in GAP, with over 8,600 participants signing up for the “Navigation” questline in GAP Season 8.

FoW also had a prominent presence at the YGG Gaming Summit, with a booth at the Gaming Expo showcasing how attendees can begin exploring AI and other emerging technologies. YGG co-founder Beryl Li and Future of Work head Trish Rosal also participated in a panel discussion on the main stage at Industry Day.

FoW also held a number of side events during the summit week, including an introductory course on AI in partnership with Metaversity University, a FrodoBots meetup showcasing the latest advances in robotics, and social gatherings.

GAP’s exponential growth

With the Reward Center and the Pledge Center, GAP Season 7 attracted more than 200 guilds, 8,213 explorers, and 47,964 mission registrations. The season covered 11 games, including the newly added Blade of God X, The Mystery Society, Sipher Odyssey, and Arena of Faith. The season was well received, and the next season started a few weeks after the end of Season 7, with almost no gap in between.

GAP Season 8 coincided with the launch of "On-Chain Guilds", with 75 guilds joining and becoming the first wave of On-Chain Guilds. Of these, 49 guilds completed at least one guild mission, with the higher the ranking on the leaderboard, the more generous the rewards. Overall participation almost tripled to 21,542 explorers, with 95% of them submitting at least one mission.

Anichess, Blast Royale, Champions Tactics, Immortal Rising 2, MapleStory Universe, RavenQues, and Space Nation join GAP in Season 8. Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) project Copute also makes its debut in FoW.

A new member of the YGG ecosystem

YGG is actively involved in the 4v4 sports multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) fighting game Sparkball, the multi-game theme park Party Icons, and the superhero athlete animation metaverse Super Champs.

Regional cooperative guilds also achieved significant milestones by the end of the year. The OLA GG platform reached 1.8 million completed tasks, while KGeN reported 3.6 million unique active wallets (UAWs) as of the fourth quarter. W3GG continued to expand in Southeast Asia with 110,000 active community members after the platform launched, and SKYGG became one of the top 50 validators in the Hyperliquid ecosystem.

The fourth quarter brought a successful end to the year, with the YGG Gaming Summit uniting the Web3 community and laying the foundation for the future of the Guild Protocol through "On-Chain Guilds". As the new year progresses, YGG will continue to focus on improvement, expansion, and innovation.
