Trump criticizes job data and attacks the Bureau of Labor Statistics before the elections, accusing the government of beautifying the numbers to support the image of the American economy.
In a new controversial statement, former American President Donald Trump
the American Bureau of Labor Statistics, accusing it of publishing inaccurate data about the labor market,
just before the upcoming American presidential elections.
Trump said during a speech at one of the campaign rallies:
"These numbers are not real, and what is happening is an attempt to beautify reality."
He pointed out that the government is trying to present the economy as better than it actually is,
to support Joe Biden's electoral position.
He continued, saying: "People on the street are suffering, prices are soaring, and real work is not visible in the reports."
The attack came after the publication of a new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
which showed an improvement in the employment rate and an increase in the number of new jobs.
This data has been presented as evidence of the recovery of the American economy.
But opponents believe that these figures do not reflect the true reality that the American citizen is experiencing.
According to some, high inflation rates and rising prices still burden American families.
It is noted that the Bureau of Labor Statistics is part of the U.S. Department of Labor,
and is considered the official source of data related to:
Unemployment rate
Number of jobs added
Average wages
Amid this controversy, questions remain:
Can government numbers be trusted in an election atmosphere?
