Cryptocurrencies have evolved from a technological experiment into a global financial and socioeconomic phenomenon. Despite their volatility and speculative cycles, multiple structural factors suggest their sustained relevance over time. This article analyzes the fundamentals that support their long-term projection, including programmed scarcity, decentralization, technological innovation, financial inclusion, operational transparency, and regulatory evolution. It also addresses the main risks associated with the crypto ecosystem. It concludes that, although not all crypto assets will survive, the underlying technology presents characteristics that favor its consolidation within the emerging hybrid financial system.
