In the past few days, I have almost moved all my high-frequency trading operations to this new venue that boasts "extreme physical performance." To be honest, having gotten used to Solana's occasionally "stuttering" 400-millisecond block time, jumping into a 40-millisecond deterministic environment created a surreal smoothness for me. When placing orders on Valiant DEX, the order placement and execution happen almost simultaneously; you can't feel the anxiety of waiting for confirmation like on traditional blockchains. This sub-second feedback speed makes those projects still caught up in parallel EVMs seem like they're racing in an old, run-down alley.
But I must throw some cold water on this. Behind this almost perverse performance is the naked "hardware hegemony." I researched its node requirements, and they are no longer configurations that ordinary enthusiasts can handle. Its enforced multi-local consensus across various geographical regions essentially trades physical distance for TPS. If Monad is still trying to balance decentralization through algorithmic asynchronous execution, it is entirely a disciple of brutal aesthetics, directly moving servers next to the exchange's collider. The consequences of this architecture are clear: its censorship resistance is extremely weak. Once the national policies of a core data center tighten, this "40ms myth" could collapse in an instant.
Many people ask me why to pay attention to it in 2026, an era of excess L1s. My logic is simple: the current Web3 has shifted from "vision-driven" to "tool-driven." If I want to engage in high-frequency arbitrage, I absolutely won't wait for those still entangled in the Move language ecosystem like Sui or Aptos; I would choose this monster that resembles Nasdaq the most. Although its current liquidity is still not comparable to Solana's mainnet, with the support of Gasless mode and account abstraction, the entry threshold has already been lowered to the floor. This may not be the "ideal state" we want, but it is definitely the most robust on-chain engine at the moment.
