Former US President Donald Trump stated that a "very strong blow" could be dealt to Iran. He made this statement on March 7 on his social network Truth Social, emphasizing that Washington is considering tough measures in response to Tehran's actions.
According to Trump, the reason for possible military actions was Iran's "bad behavior." He noted that in case of further escalation, options for strikes on areas and groups of people that were not previously on the list of potential targets could be considered. The politician warned that the consequences could be extremely serious, up to the "complete destruction" of certain facilities and forces associated with Iran.
Moreover, Trump commented on the statement of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who earlier apologized to neighboring countries for the attacks and promised not to strike them again. According to the American politician, such a statement is evidence that Tehran was forced to make concessions to its Middle Eastern neighbors.
Trump asserts that the decision of the Iranian leadership is related to the constant pressure from the United States and Israel. He stated that it is these actions, in his opinion, that have forced Iran to abandon its aggressive policy in the region.
"They wanted to establish control over the Middle East and manage it, but for the first time in thousands of years, Iran lost to the countries surrounding it," Trump wrote in his post.
The former American leader also characterized Iran as the "losing side," adding that, in his opinion, the country could remain in such a position for decades — until it changes its policy or faces a serious internal crisis.
Trump's statements came against the backdrop of ongoing tensions in the Middle East, where relations between Iran, the U.S., and their allies remain extremely complicated. Experts note that such statements could escalate tensions in the region and provoke a new wave of political discussions around the potential escalation of the conflict.
