Whale Comes Back to Life After Sleeping for 11 Years, Transfers Bitcoin Worth Rp2 T
A Bitcoin wallet belonging to a "whale" (large investor) that has been inactive for 11 years since 2014 suddenly became active again. The whale transferred all of its contents, which is 1,000 Bitcoin (BTC), currently valued at around Rp1.9 trillion (US$115.9 million).
According to data from Arkham Intelligence, the funds were transferred from one old address to four new unidentified addresses. This action is very significant because the 1,000 BTC were acquired in January 2014 with an estimated capital of only US847 thousand, when the price of Bitcoin was still around US847 per coin.
The activity from this old wallet is interpreted by the market as a signal that long-term Bitcoin holders are starting to move again, possibly to realize profits or implement new strategies amid the rising crypto market trend.
