What is the main purpose of the RENDER token (formerly RNDR)?
This token is a utility token and governance token of the network, designed to:
1. Payment for rendering services
Users (artists, studios, AI developers) must use RENDER to pay fees when renting GPU to render their work. This is the main use case and creates actual demand for the token.
2. Rewards for GPU contributors (Node Operators)
Anyone providing GPU power to process rendering jobs will receive RENDER as a reward → encouraging everyone to participate in providing resources.
3. Community Governance
Holders of RENDER can propose and vote on Render Network Proposals (RNP) → deciding the direction of network development, allocating rewards, changing mechanisms, etc. → helping the network gradually become more decentralized.
4. Encouraging broader community contributions
Through bounty programs, grants, artist support, etc., tokens are used to reward contributors of code, documentation, research, promotion, or other initiatives that help the network grow.
What does this token contribute to the community?
• Democratizing GPU power: Helping independent artists, small studios, AI developers anywhere (including Vietnam) access high-end computing power without needing to buy expensive GPUs or rely on big cloud companies.
• Utilize idle resources: Millions of GPUs around the world are “asleep” → Rendering helps turn them into a source of passive income while reducing global resource waste.
• Reducing rendering costs: Often 50–90% cheaper than traditional rendering, making content creation more accessible.
• Building a decentralized community: Token holders truly have a voice in shaping the project's future (through governance), rather than just one company deciding.
• Support for creativity & AI: Especially useful for the fields of 3D, film, games, metaverse, AI generative art, etc. — which have been very hot in recent years.#render #render
