We often talk about digital currencies and artificial intelligence as if they exist in a virtual cloud, but the reality is that they rely entirely on a solid mechanical and electrical infrastructure on the ground. ⚡⚙️
Based on my experience in the design and maintenance of electrical power systems and large generators, I share with you three key points that connect "the world of engineering" with "the future of digital technology":
Power Stability: Data centers or mining devices cannot operate efficiently without an accurate synchronization system for generators to ensure there are no momentary outages, which could cost thousands of dollars in seconds.
Power Factor: Improving the power factor is not just a savings on bills, but it enhances the efficiency of the entire system and reduces thermal loss, thus extending the lifespan of sensitive digital devices.
Harsh operating environments: In areas like mining sites, regular maintenance of diesel engines (such as Perkins) and cooling systems is the "first line of defense" for the continuation of any technical activity.
Digital technology is as powerful as the engines and generators that support it.
I am pleased to share with you in the upcoming posts lessons learned from construction sites and engineering projects and how we can improve energy efficiency in our technical projects.
