Fabric Foundation aims to build a safe, open, and globally beneficial future for artificial intelligence and robotics, especially as intelligent machines transition from software to the real world.

In essence, the project focuses on:

Ensuring that intelligent machines operate in alignment with human intent. Ensuring that artificial intelligence systems and autonomous machines function in an understandable, predictable manner and benefit humanity.

Public infrastructure for artificial intelligence and robotics, supporting open standards, decentralized identification, coordination between machines, and governance frameworks so that no single company or nation controls the future of intelligent machines.

Research, policy, and governance: Funding and bringing together researchers, policymakers, and technology experts to address challenging issues like safety, accountability, and the long-term management of artificial intelligence systems.

Practical applications, not just theory. The focus is on artificial intelligence and robotics operating in the physical world (robots, agents, autonomous systems), rather than just digital models.

Global participation and accessibility: Ensuring that people all over the world can contribute to and benefit from these systems, rather than concentrating power in a few organizations.
