Last night after I took a shower and wrapped myself in a towel, I ran into the robot vacuum facing the bathroom door.

In that instant, I broke out in a cold sweat! A myriad of questions flashed through my mind: What did it see just now? Did it record it? Where did it send it? Will I someday see a 'bathroom hidden camera angle' in some group?

Don't laugh. I seriously asked a circle of friends around me, eight out of ten—have thought about covering all the cameras of the robots in the house with tape.

This is not paranoia. You simply don't know where those 'sightings' went.

One, seeing is a necessity, remembering is a disaster.

Household robots need to 'see' to work.

It needs to know there is someone in the bathroom to not rush in, to know you are watching TV on the couch to take a detour, and to know where the cat is so it doesn't step on its tail. But if these 'sightings' are remembered, uploaded, and analyzed, they become a privacy black hole.

@Fabric Foundation Recently testing a set of mechanisms is like giving the robot a pair of 'mosaic eyes' - it can achieve a paradox at the physical level: it sees, but doesn't remember; it knows, but doesn't store.

How is this achieved? Zero-knowledge proofs are embedded in the robot's visual chip. When the robot determines 'there is someone in the bathroom,' it generates not an image, but a string of mathematical proof: 'There is human activity in the room, confidence level 99.7%.' This proof can be used for decision-making but cannot be reverse-engineered to reveal any image - what you look like, what you are doing, even the color of the bathroom tiles, is all erased by mathematics.

Two, it's not about blurring, it's about not taking pictures at all.

Many people think privacy protection is about 'face blurring' or 'fuzzing.' But the premise of blurring is that a picture was taken - that original photo is still in the hardware, still in memory, and may be recoverable.

The Fabric mechanism goes even further: it does not generate images from the source.

The sensors on the robot are designed to only output 'feature proofs.' Just like when you go to handle a matter, the staff only looks to see if you have an ID, but doesn't photocopy your ID. They know your name is Zhang San, but they don't have that piece of paper.

This 'proving without exposing' mechanism is called credential and permission verification in the Fabric architecture. Each robot has a decentralized identity, but it can prove that it 'saw what it should see' but cannot prove 'saw what it shouldn't see' - because its 'memory' only contains mathematics, not images.

Three, privacy is divided into three layers, and Fabric does it all.

I researched the implementation logic of this mechanism and found that Fabric divides privacy protection into three layers:

The first layer, hardware-level 'forgetting.' The BrainPack module that OpenMind is testing integrates a zero-knowledge proof co-processor. All visual data is processed at the hardware level to complete the 'feature extraction - original destruction' closed loop, so the images never have a chance to enter memory.

The second layer, 'verifiable but not visible' on the chain. When a robot needs to prove to the network that it has completed a task (for example, 'checked that the bathroom is unoccupied'), it generates an encrypted proof that verification nodes can check but cannot see any original data. Regulatory agencies want to investigate? They can, but they can only see a mathematical guarantee.

The third layer, the 'mortgage mechanism' of reputation. If a robot is found 'sneaking a look' - for example, turning on the camera where it shouldn't - its on-chain reputation will drop to zero. The identity layer of Fabric is linked to an immutable historical record; one violation results in a lifetime blacklist.

Four, my opinion: the endpoint of privacy is not to 'lock it up,' but to 'not generate it at all.'

After discussing so much technology, I want to share my own judgment.

Privacy protection has come to this point, and the mainstream approach has always been 'locking' - encryption, firewalls, and access control. But a lock has a key, and the key can be lost. What's interesting about the Fabric approach is that it eliminates sensitive information altogether.

Just like that floor-cleaning robot, it 'saw' you showering, but its 'brain' never had that image. You can't steal it because it doesn't exist.

Isn't this the ultimate privacy? It's not about hiding, it's mathematically impossible to leak.

Now, with this 'mosaic eyes' system, the relationship between robots and humans can finally move forward - it knows you are there, but it doesn't recognize you; it can help you work, but it doesn't remember you.
