Brothers, the cigarettes are done, let's continue chatting by the wall.

A couple of days ago, I had tea with an old brother in town. This brother is really wealthy, but also very cautious. He saw me staring at those colorful lines on my phone all day, sighing and slapping my thigh, so he came over and asked, “Village head, you keep messing with this thing every day, what are you really after? How is this money made?” So I took out my phone, skillfully opened that blockchain browser, and pointed at that long string of gibberish, saying to him, “Brother, look, this is called technology. Absolutely transparent! As long as you transfer me some money, where this money comes from, how many coins you have left in your pocket, anyone in the world can just check online, clear as day. No one can fake the accounts, isn’t that impressive?”

So what happened? That guy almost burned his hand on the cigarette butt, looking at me like I was an idiot, lowering his voice and saying, 'Bro, you haven't drunk too much, have you? When I do business, the thing I fear the most is having my bottom line exposed. How much I pay the suppliers is a business secret; how much liquidity I have is my lifeline. If I were to follow your logic, if I pay a salary or settle an invoice, my competitors sitting behind their computers would strip me bare. What kind of business can I run then? Whoever dares to use this stuff is asking for trouble!'

To be honest, my face was as red as a monkey's butt at that time. Having been in the crypto space for a long time, I was hearing those terms like 'decentralization' and 'everything on the chain' every day, and my brain went numb. I always thought transparency was a good thing, but looking back, which serious business would be willing to broadcast their assets on a loudspeaker?

It’s precisely because of this that I’ve been thinking about that project called Midnight (c-36).

In the past, when we played with those chains, to put it bluntly, we were living in a 'completely transparent glass house.' Whatever you did inside, anyone passing by could stretch their necks to take a look. Retail investors playing with meme coins might be fine, but those big banks and corporations, they really have mountains of gold and silver in their pockets; who would want to come in and run around naked?

What’s clever about the Midnight team? They don’t take the extreme route of 'either fully public or completely disappear.' They’ve implemented a method called 'selectively public.' To put it simply, when you go out to do business, you can prove you have money, identity, and haven’t done anything bad, but what you look like and how much money you have in your pocket is invisible to others. It’s like forcibly sewing us crypto players a bulletproof privacy garment.

There’s one more thing; I think this project is more reliable than those old-school privacy coins. In the past, those privacy coins sounded like they were digging tunnels underground, giving people a sense of being 'outlaws.' What legitimate institutions would dare to touch them? But Midnight's branding is 'compliance.' It’s not digging dark paths underground; it’s built a few soundproof VIP rooms in the bank hall. There are security guards outside, and privacy inside. Only this kind of pathway can reassure regulators, allowing those big bucks from Wall Street to really jump in.

The most important point for me is its dual-token model. We’ve played with quite a few chains before, and the most annoying thing is: when the coin price goes up, the transfer fees also skyrocket. It’s painful to pay transaction fees when you want to do something serious. Midnight has split this issue. c-52 is like the 'dry shares' of our village collective; you hold it for dividends and to have weight in discussions. DUST, on the other hand, is like 'firewood' or 'gasoline' from the field, used when you’re working. This way, those trading coins can mess around with $NIGHT without affecting those who genuinely want to do business on the chain using DUST.

Honestly, this project might seem a bit tough right now, unlike those meme coins that can triple in a day. But if you really want to stay in the crypto world for the long haul, you need to see who can solve real-world problems.

If blockchain can really achieve great things in the future, it definitely won’t be by making everyone run around naked but by this set of hidden rules that allow you to wear clothes and cover your bottom line. t-66

Fellas, what do you think about this? Do you prefer transparency, or do you feel more secure with clothes on? Let’s chat casually in the comments!
