Once Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended upon my master, may peace and blessings be upon him, and said to him: O Muhammad, indeed Allah says to you:
✨ Live as you wish, for you will die
✨ And love whom you wish, for you will part
✨ And do as you wish, for you will be rewarded
✨ And know that the honor of a believer is the night prayer
✨ And his dignity is his independence from people
O Allah, make me among those who await death with tranquility, not seeking refuge from evil when hearing it, but rather prepared for the Hereafter, not fearing the departure, and aware that the Hereafter is the destination, and that every shortcoming can be rectified through repentance and righteous deeds, so that our death is nothing but a pathway to Your pleasure.
For death has been decreed upon every living being, even the Angel of Death himself, if Allah wills, and everything is perishable except His face, the Exalted.
O Allah, conclude our lives with goodness, and make our last words in this world a testimony that there is no deity but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and make our meeting with You more beloved to us than this world and all that is in it.
So work for a home tomorrow whose keeper is Ridwan,
And the neighbor is Ahmad, and the Merciful is its builder,
Its palaces are made of gold, and its clay is musk,
And saffron is the grass that grows in it.
So if you truly engage in preparation for death, your fear will cease, no matter who you are… except of course for polytheism.
Rather, you will long for meeting Him with calmness and tranquility, rejoicing in the meeting with your Lord, and that is the great success.
For death for the believer is not an end… but rather a beautiful beginning,
And the Lord of goodness does not come except with goodness.
