The Pi Network released the initial version of its launch platform as the Pi app on the Testnet with a test token on March 16. However, the team claimed to provide a token launch mechanism that differs from traditional Web 3 launch platform models.

The Pi Core team stated that the Testnet launch is designed to enable pioneers to understand how the process works before the Mainnet launch. The Launchpad implements Design 1 from the PiRC framework, an open-source proposal system released by Pi on the anniversary of the founding of the open network.
