A man took out 60 life and health insurance policies and received payments on all of them after a serious injury.

In 2019, the man took out 60 life and health insurance contracts at once. In the same year, he was involved in a serious accident and sustained severe injuries: a traumatic brain injury, a concussion, open fractures, and multiple bruises. Treatment took almost a month.
When the man applied for insurance payments, most companies denied him, considering such a number of policies suspicious and akin to an attempt to enrich himself.
The courts sided with the insurers. However, the higher court took a fundamentally different position: if the insurance premiums for all policies were paid honestly and on time, the policyholder has every right to receive compensation for each contract—even if there was only one insured event.
