💛 Hey friends, on April 8, @cz_binance's new book (Freedom of Money) (Chinese name (币安人生)) will be officially released.
Looking back at the early days of Binance, no one could have imagined that a young boy from Shanghai, driven by his dedication to freedom and dreams, would eventually create such an impact in the global cryptocurrency arena.
In 2018, Binance's slogan was 'Freedom of Money'. Now, the e-book is available for pre-order, with the English physical book and the Traditional Chinese version set to launch on April 8, while the Simplified Chinese version will be released later. Priced at $9.99, it currently ranks first on Amazon's new cryptocurrency book bestseller list.
CZ stated that all proceeds from this book will be donated to charity. His outlook is indeed different.

One, a book, half a life
Regarding the book title (Freedom of Money), CZ explained that it was not a spur-of-the-moment decision. As early as 2018, he mentioned multiple times that Binance's mission is to "increase the freedom of money." The Chinese version is translated as (币安人生), and it is said that the inspiration came from a meme coin created spontaneously by the community, which CZ found endearing and natural, so he used it.
If you understand CZ's experiences, you will better understand why this book title holds a different significance for him.
He was born in China; his father went to study in Canada in 1984, and the family immigrated to Vancouver in 1989. When they first arrived in Canada, the family was not well off; his father worked as a teaching assistant at the university, and his mother, who was not fluent in English, worked in a sewing factory for several years. At the age of 14, CZ started working at McDonald's to help with household expenses. He attended McGill University majoring in computer science, and later obtained his degree through online education. From developing a securities trading system in Tokyo, to leading an 80-person team at Bloomberg, and then starting his business in Shanghai in 2005, he has come this far.
From an immigrant teenager flipping patties at McDonald's to creating the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. This journey has taken decades, and the hardships along the way are probably known only to him.
Two, things beyond money
As I write this, I want to talk about why I am willing to buy this book. It’s not because it tells the legendary story of a wealthy Chinese person—these kinds of stories are actually not lacking. Nor is it to see the insider information of the crypto circle, although I am a bit curious.
What truly moves me is the rare sincerity and responsibility that CZ embodies.
Do you know how many people, once they reach his position, start to package themselves, avoid their past, and maintain their persona? But CZ is not like that. From the early years, he refused to participate in gambling-related projects, saying, I just earn quick money from those who cannot think clearly; I would rather spend my time on better things, to always putting users first, this persistence has almost run through his entire career.
Since Binance was established, it has helped over 180,000 users recover a total of over $441 million in assets. There are really not many people in the crypto industry who can achieve this level.
There’s also the Giggle Academy he founded, a non-profit online education platform that provides free education to underprivileged children globally, especially in developing countries. It has served over 70,000 children to date. Recently, he donated all $30,000 earned from creative work at Binance Square to Giggle Academy. All proceeds from this book will also be donated to charity.
For CZ, making money has never been the end goal.
In the book, there is a concept called financial freedom, but it’s not about how big the wealth number is, rather it’s about freedom itself, a kind of freedom that allows you to make choices at any time, a state of having more agency and confidence. What he writes is not just a story of entrepreneurship, but also the choices behind money.
True freedom is not about how much money you have, but whether you can control your own destiny, whether you can take on responsibilities and make your own choices. Ultimately, this freedom has gradually emerged from his consistent efforts for users and society.
Three, small expectations
On April 8, the e-book and the physical book will be launched simultaneously. CZ mentioned in a tweet that early pre-order readers might have the chance to receive his handwritten signature.
Although I don’t know who the lucky one will be, if there really is such an opportunity, I would place this book in the most prominent position on my bookshelf. Not to show off, but to remind myself that in this restless era, there are still some people who uphold things more important than making money.
10 Chit-chat: @CZ Big cousin, if there could be a signed edition, I might be so happy that I would fly! It’s not about idolizing, but because this book means more to me than just a book. 💛
