When you open the Markets tab on Binance, one of the most eye-catching sections you’ll notice is called Top Movers.

This section often shows coins with dramatic price changes, the ones everyone’s talking about. But what exactly are Top Movers? And how do you read them without getting lost in hype or panic?

Let’s take it step by step.

WHAT Are Binance Top Movers?

Top Movers are cryptocurrencies that have experienced the biggest price changes, either up or down, within the past 24 hours.

In simple terms:

  • Top Gainers are coins whose prices have gone up the most.

  • Top Losers are coins whose prices have dropped the most.

Binance updates this list in real-time, based on global trading data. It’s like a leaderboard that constantly shows which coins are currently trending, whether positively or negatively.

HOW to Read Binance Top Movers

When you open this section, you’ll see two major lists:

  1. Top Gainers

  2. Top Losers

Let’s understand how to read these numbers like a smart beginner.

Top Gainers

These are coins that have increased in value the most during the last 24 hours.

Example: If a coin shows +25%, it means its price has risen 25% compared to where it was 24 hours ago. This could happen due to:

  • Positive news or partnerships

  • Increased trading volume

  • Market speculation or hype

  • A strong overall crypto market (bullish momentum)

But be careful as a coin rising fast doesn’t always mean it’s a good buy. Prices can rise due to temporary excitement or short squeezes and then fall just as quickly.

Top Losers

These are coins that have dropped the most in the past 24 hours.

Example: If you see -18%, it means the coin has lost 18% of its value in one day.

While it may look scary, these coins sometimes attract buyers who believe the price will rebound (buying the dip). However, for beginners, it’s best not to rush into such trades without understanding why the price fell, it could be news, market manipulation, or a technical correction.

Look Beyond the Percentage

A +50% coin might look exciting, but always check:

  • Trading Volume: Is there enough liquidity?

  • Market Cap: Is this a large or small project?

  • News: What’s driving the move, a real update or hype?

These details give you the context behind the move, helping you see the difference between a healthy trend and a risky spike.

HOW to Use Top Movers for Smart Learning

For beginners, the Top Movers section is not about jumping in to trade rather it’s about learning how markets behave.

Try this:

Visit the Top Movers section daily

Note down 2–3 coins from the Gainers and Losers list

Observe what happens to their prices the next day

Look for patterns (e.g., does a 20% gain often reverse the next day?)

This practice will sharpen your market reading skills and help you build emotional discipline that is a vital trait for any crypto investor.

Important Reminder

The Top Movers section is exciting but can be misleading for new users. Sudden spikes often lead to “FOMO trading” (Fear of Missing Out), which can cause losses.

Our goal here is to understand, not rush to invest.

Keep observing, learning, and connecting dots. By the time we finish this Markets Tab series, you’ll have a clear idea of how to identify genuine trends instead of chasing temporary hype.

WHAT’S NEXT

In our next lesson, we’ll explore another valuable area inside the Markets tab:

“Lesson 15: WHAT Are New Listings & HOW to Analyze Them.”

New listings are where many traders spot early opportunities, but also where many beginners make emotional mistakes. We’ll learn how to approach them with logic, not luck.
