CZ exposed a big scoop in his memoir: Huobi founder Li Lin was taken away by the police on November 28, 2020, after being reported to the police by Xu Mingxing himself.

"At a dinner in 2025, I met Li Lin again after 11 years. Li Lin told me that he had seen a screenshot showing Xu Mingxing personally reporting him to the Chinese police, and it was this report that led to his arrest."

The timeline is indeed quite subtle: Xu Mingxing was taken away on October 16, released on November 26, and two days later on the 28th, Li Lin and Huobi's senior management were collectively taken away.

However, the memoir does not mention who initially got Xu Mingxing into trouble.
