TON upgrades transaction processing speed to under 1 second. The Open Network (TON) has just implemented the Catchain 2.0 upgrade, which reduces the transaction confirmation time on the network to under 1 second. Specifically, after the upgrade, blocks on TON are created in just about 0.4 seconds, significantly improving from before. This enhances the user experience to approach Web2 systems, especially in tasks that require quick responses such as payments or using Mini Apps on Telegram. According to the development team, this is the initial step in a multi-phase upgrade roadmap aimed at improving performance and reducing network costs. In the future, TON aims to continue optimizing to further reduce transaction fees multiple times. After the upgrade information, the price of TON has recorded an increase of over 5% in 24 hours. However, this token is still quite far from the historical peak achieved in 2024.
