Global food prices are rising due to the war in the Middle East, Bloomberg reports.
According to the publication, the FAO Food Price Index rose to 128.5 points in March, marking the second consecutive increase.
The rise is attributed to the impact of the war in Iran, which is disrupting supply chains and increasing transportation costs.
Vegetable oils and sugar have seen the largest increases, while prices for meat, dairy products, and grains are also rising.
