Binance announced today that it will remove the futures contracts of two popular altcoins from the platform.

According to the official announcement published by the exchange, perpetual futures contracts based on USDT for SLERF (SLERF) will be delisted on October 20, 2025, while crypto-collateralized (COIN-M) futures contracts for Chiliz (CHZ) will be delisted on October 21, 2025. On the specified dates, all open positions related to the contracts will be automatically closed, and the transactions will be completely terminated.

Binance recommended that users manually close their positions by October 20 at 12:00 PM (UTC) for SLERF/USDT contracts and by October 21 at 1:00 PM (UTC) for CHZ/USD contracts to avoid any grievances. Additionally, new position opening operations will be halted at 11:30 AM (UTC) on October 20 for SLERF/USDT and at 12:30 PM (UTC) on October 21 for CHZ/USD.

The exchange announced that the Futures Insurance Fund would not be used in the last hour before the close and that liquidations during this period would be carried out using the Immediate or Cancel Order (IOCO) method. If these operations do not sufficiently reduce positions, the remaining open transactions will be closed through the Auto-Deleveraging (ADL) process.

Binance also stated that it might take additional security measures against excessive volatility. These measures include adjusting the maximum leverage level, changing maintenance margin rates, updating funding rates, and implementing price protection mechanisms.

The exchange warned users to closely monitor the process and be cautious of high volatility and low liquidity risks.

On the other hand, according to CoinGecko data, SLERF quickly rose after the delisting news. The price increased from $0.06109 to $0.07861, showing an approximately 30% increase.
