NYSE PARTNERS WITH SECURITIZE ON TOKENIZED SECURITIES
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Securitize have signed an agreement to develop tokenized securities markets.
Securitize will serve as the first digital transfer agent on NYSE’s upcoming blockchain-based platform,
What does this mean ?
New York Stock Exchange (NYSE): The largest traditional stock exchange in the world.
And
•Securitize: A company that specializes in turning real-world assets into blockchain-based digital securities.
Are teaming up to build a blockchain-based stock market infrastructure where
•Stocks, bonds and other assets can be tokenized
•Ownership is recorded on the blockchain instead of traditional systems
•Trading and settlement can happen faster and more efficiently
📌What are “tokenized securities”?
Think of it like this:
👉 A normal stock (e.g., Apple share)
= recorded in traditional databases, takes time to settle
👉 A tokenized stock
= a digital token on blockchain representing that same ownership
So:
•1 token = 1 share (or part of a share)
•It can be traded digitally, even 24/7 in some cases
What does Securitize being a “transfer agent” mean?
A transfer agent keeps track of:
•Who owns what
•Transfers of ownership
•Record updates
Now instead of paper or centralized databases:
👉 Securitize will do this on blockchain
That’s a huge shift.
This move shows that:
👉 Traditional finance is not fighting blockchain anymore
👉 It’s adopting it,that’s massive.
When the New York Stock Exchange starts building on blockchain, it signals:
Tokenization is likely the future of capital markets.
Old system:
Bank + brokers + paperwork + delays.
The new system.
Blockchain + tokens + instant ownership tracking.
