#binanceaipro $XAU A new Bitcoin proposal, called BIP-361, aims to protect older wallets from future quantum computer attacks. Currently, approximately 34% of Bitcoin, or 6.9 million coins, remain in vulnerable older addresses.

The plan is to gradually eliminate these addresses over time. Specifically, Bitcoin will no longer be sent to these old addresses, and after about five years, these addresses could be deactivated if users don't move their assets, potentially freezing dormant coins.

This proposal is highly controversial. One side argues it's a necessary way to protect Bitcoin in the long term, while the other argues it goes against Bitcoin's core principle: no one has control over another's assets.
