In 2008, a certain Satoshi Nakamoto published the white paper of Bitcoin — a 9-page document explaining how to create a decentralized electronic currency.
A few months later, he launched the first Bitcoin software and mined the first 50 BTC in the world.
But what makes the story incredible is that no one really knows who he is.
Is he a man? A woman? A group of developers?
No one knows.
In 2011, after exchanging messages with other developers, Satoshi simply wrote:
"I have moved on."
Since that day… no sign of life.
Yet, his wallets contain around 1 million Bitcoins, worth several tens of billions of dollars 💰 — never spent, never moved.
Some say he is dead, others think he watches everything in silence 👀
In any case, Satoshi Nakamoto remains the greatest mystery in the history of cryptocurrency.
