The Boundary Between Analysis and Judgment

Most enterprise software companies sell tools that generate recommendations. The human reviews, decides, and carries responsibility for what follows. The boundary between the tool's output and the human's decision is usually where accountability lives.

The structural problem with AI-assisted decision systems is that boundary getting blurry. When a system surfaces a high-confidence recommendation and a human approves it without deeply interrogating the model's assumptions, it becomes harder to say where the analysis ends and the judgment begins.

That's the layer I found myself examining in what Stacked is building inside the #pixel ( $PIXEL ) ecosystem. Their AI game economist doesn't execute changes it surfaces experiments worth running. The studio retains final authority over what gets implemented.

The mechanism is a recommendation queue. The AI identifies candidate interventions, the team selects which to action.

The part I keep circling is what happens to accountability in that arrangement. If an experiment runs badly, the AI flagged it and the studio approved it. The failure has two authors. Which one carries the lesson?
