SEC backs tokenized securities framework
The SEC’s advisory group just endorsed blockchain-based stock transactions. Big takeaways:
Proposal: Create narrow exemptions for blockchain trading that cut out brokers/transfer agents. Trades would settle peer-to-peer on-chain.
Conditions: Must include mandatory disclosures + external oversight to get the exemption.
Why it matters: First real signal that the SEC is willing to let tokenized stocks trade without traditional Wall Street intermediaries. Still advisory, not final rule.
