The opening is valid only for the period of the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. On Sunday, negotiations on Iran will be held in Islamabad — that is where it will be decided whether this is the start of de-escalation or just a pause before a new round.

The first tanker has already passed — the Pakistani Shalamar with oil from the UAE. But before this, traffic through the strait had dropped by 90%. Insurance, mines, military risks — all of this remains in place.
