I think the reason Pixels survived where most Web3 games did not comes down to one decision the team made that most teams avoid. They were willing to admit the original model was flawed and redesign it while the game was still running.
Most projects protect their original tokenomics because changing them publicly feels like an admission of failure. Pixels phased out $BERRY, consolidated to $PIXEL , introduced vPIXEL, built Stacked, and repositioned the token from a spend currency toward a staking and governance asset. Every one of those changes was disruptive in the short term. All of them point in the same direction. A team that is more interested in getting the economy right than in looking like they got it right the first time.
That willingness to redesign under pressure is rarer than good architecture. It is also harder to copy.
