—Alexandrovka. This is set to be one of the key battles in the spring of 2026, as it paves the way for another Russian advance towards the outskirts of Slavyansk.

Currently, the first Russian troops have managed to breach the easternmost houses in Rai-Alexandrovka. However, the crucial areas now are on the flanks, where the Russian advance has largely stalled.

Ukrainian forces are launching a counterattack south of the village, vying for control against Russian forces over the villages of Nikiforivka and Fedorivka Druha, while a Ukrainian stronghold in Kryvaya Luka holds firm against multiple Russian assaults.

Without taking the high ground near Kryvaya Luka, it's gonna be tough to wrap up the battle for Ray-Alexandrovka.

Once Ray-Alexandrovka falls, the path to the neighboring city of Nikolayevka will be wide open. I expect to see an uptick in attacks from the southern flank, leveraging the tactical elevation line that runs along the Seversky Donets River all the way to Nikolayevka.
