it's been revealed, folks, that on Thursday, April 23, 2026, $AAVE announced the launch of the DeFi Collaborative Relief Fund, a joint initiative put together by several protocols. We believe this was a smart move 🙏🏼 aimed at mitigating the losses stemming from the $292 million vulnerability attack that hit KelpDAO on April 18.
We can say, and we believe it's true, that the primary goal of this initiative is to inject capital into the rsETH token to cover its funding shortfall and prevent the spread of bad debt within the DeFi ecosystem, particularly on the Aave platform. Previously, attackers had leveraged fake rsETH tokens to secure significant loans on the Aave platform.
