We learned, folks, that on Thursday, April 23, 2026, $AAVE announced the launch of the DeFi Collaborative Relief Fund, a joint initiative rolled out by several protocols. We believe it was a wise move 🙏🏼 to mitigate the losses stemming from the $292 million vulnerability exploit that KelpDAO suffered on April 18.
We can say, and we believe it’s true, that the main goal of this initiative is to inject capital into the rsETH token to cover its funding shortfall and prevent the spread of bad debt within the DeFi ecosystem, particularly on the Aave platform. Previously, attackers had leveraged counterfeit rsETH tokens to secure significant loans on the Aave platform.
