It has come to our attention, folks, that on Thursday, April 23, 2026, $AAVE announced the launch of the DeFi Collaborative Relief Fund, a joint initiative rolled out by several protocols. We believe this was a wise decision 🙏🏼 aimed at mitigating the losses stemming from the $292 million vulnerability attack that hit KelpDAO on April 18.
We can say, and we strongly believe, that the main goal of this initiative is to inject capital into the rsETH token to cover its funding shortfall and prevent the spread of bad debt within the DeFi ecosystem, particularly on the Aave platform. Previously, attackers had used counterfeit rsETH tokens to secure hefty loans on the Aave platform.
