This is a story about my friend.
There was a time he couldn’t lose. Every trade worked and he felt like he finally understood the market. So he started pushing more. Bigger positions, more trades, taking setups he would normally ignore. At first it still worked, and that’s what made it feel right.
Then one trade lost. He didn’t accept it and tried to win it back. Another loss came, then another. Without noticing, he slipped into revenge trading. He stopped following his plan and started trading on emotion. He knew something was wrong, but couldn’t see it clearly.
So he reached out to someone more experienced. Not for signals, just for honesty. The answer was simple. He was overtrading, forcing setups, and ignoring his own rules. Nothing complicated, just something he couldn’t see himself.
So he stepped back, reduced his size, and waited more. Within days, the losses stopped. The market didn’t change, he did.
Moral of the story, winning can be more dangerous than losing if it makes you forget your rules. Protect your mindset and protect your plan.
