Progression in Pixels doesn’t feel clean once you’re a few hours in. It starts simple, sure, but then everything gets gated behind something else and suddenly I’m juggling ten different things just to move one step forward. $PIXEL stops feeling like a reward pretty fast. It’s more like… the thing you’re always short on.
I unlocked Cooking thinking it’d be whatever, just food buffs. Ended up actually mattering more than I expected. Some of those boosts are the difference between a smooth run and wasting half your session. Crafting though… yeah, that’s where it gets real grindy. You think you have enough mats, you don’t. You’re always missing one thing. And blueprints? Don’t even get me started. The drop rate feels like it’s trolling me half the time. I’ve spent way too long just trying to get one decent unlock.
The whole “pick your industry” thing sounds cool until you realize you kinda lock yourself in. I went into Apiary thinking easy honey money. Now I’m knee-deep in wax chains and realizing it feeds into like three other systems I didn’t plan for. It’s not bad, just… you feel it when you pick wrong or too early.
Same with land. At first it’s just placing stuff wherever. Later on, I’m staring at my farm thinking I messed up the layout and now everything’s inefficient but fixing it costs more than I want to deal with.
And yeah, everything loops back to $PIXEL. Always. Expanding, crafting, switching things up, it all burns through it. Honestly feels less like a currency and more like a throttle on how fast you’re allowed to play.
