The recent surge in the storage sector is essentially the funds realizing that after pushing the computing power segment up, it’s time to look for undervalued opportunities.
Don't treat them as just simple cloud storage anymore; they need to be viewed as the foundational infrastructure for AI.
1. The logic is pretty straightforward:
AI computing power is the engine, and data is the fuel. As models grow larger, the cost and security of data storage have become crucial issues for big players. Decentralized storage was once a pseudo-demand, but now the sheer volume of data fed to AI has turned this low-cost, programmable storage into a necessity.
2. Different strategies from the three leaders:
$FIL (Filecoin): It used to be a clunky hard drive, but with the addition of the FVM virtual machine, it’s like it has a brain now. It aims for a storage-computing integration. Although there were many stuck positions before, the chips are now cleaned up. If one hot project emerges in the FVM ecosystem, FIL’s valuation logic will be completely restructured.
$AR (Arweave): Its ambitions are even greater. After the launch of the AO network, AR has evolved from permanent storage to a supercomputer. It has tackled the scalability issue of on-chain computing, which is a narrative shift and is the reason for its consistently strong performance.
$STORJ : This one is more hands-on. It’s directly competing with AWS and has recently ventured into GPU computing integration. It has great flexibility, making it suitable for those looking to gamble on short-term bursts.
3. My practical trading suggestions (price levels for reference):
FIL: Just broke through the resistance level, don’t rush to chase it. Wait for a retracement to stabilize between 10.5 and 11.0 before entering, with an initial target of 15. Keep a stop-loss at 9.5.
AR: The most stable formation. A retracement to 38 to 40 is a good entry point. First target is 55, with a medium-term view of 70. Set a stop-loss at 34.
STORJ: Suitable for small position speculation. Enter on a retracement to 0.85 to 0.90, with a take-profit target above 1.2. Keep a stop-loss at 0.78.
In summary: AI computing power is the vanguard, and storage is the logistics. Wait for that big bullish candlestick to confirm on a retracement before entering, don’t go against the trend, and don’t stubbornly fight at resistance levels.
