😐 Did the USA cut 127k BTC from China?

🇨🇳 China accused the USA of pocketing 127,000 BTC (~$13.5 billion), stolen back in 2020 during the hack of the Chinese mining pool LuBian.

📅 At that time, on December 29, 2020, all coins were withdrawn from the pool — and for almost 4 years, they remained untouched. This is highly unusual for regular hackers.

🕵🏻‍♂️ But in June 2024, the “dead” stash suddenly came to life: BTC moved to new addresses that Arkham and other analysts marked as wallets of the US government.

😡 In Beijing, they are convinced: the US Department of Justice calls this “seizure of criminal assets,” but in reality, it is the final act of an operation that began with the hack of LuBian.

🇺🇸 Washington shrugs it off: “everything is legal,” claiming that the coins are linked to Chen Zhi — a Cambodian crypto scammer, and it is simply the seizure of dirty assets.

🤫 In short, while some see this as “justice,” others view it as the most expensive hack of the century, conducted under the cover of law.
