TRUMP: XI OFFERED HELP ON IRAN, HORMUZ STRAIT

Donald Trump said X! Jinping offered during talks to help mediate tensions between the US and Iran and support reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said Xi expressed interest in a deal and keeping the key oil route open, while China reiterated that the strait “must remain open.” US officials said Washington did not request China’s assistance and that the issue was raised to clarify positions.

IRAN CLAIMS IT DEPLOYED MINI SUBS IN STRAIT OF HORMUZ ESCALATION

Iran says it has deployed Ghadir-class midget submarines in the Strait of Hormuz to act as an “invisible guardian” and disrupt shipping in the key oil chokepoint.

The submarines, designed for shallow-water operations and carrying torpedoes or missiles, are part of Tehran’s broader effort to pressure vessels transiting the strait, alongside drones and fast-attack boats. Analysts note they are small but noisy and easier to detect, limiting their stealth advantage.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil flows, has seen rising tensions as US-Iran maritime confrontation intensifies.
