TRON DAO Expands TRON Academy to UC Berkeley as Student Interest in Blockchain Accelerates
TRON DAO has taken another meaningful step in blockchain education by bringing TRON Academy to UC Berkeley on November 14. This adds Berkeley to a growing list of top universities Harvard, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, and more where TRON DAO is helping students explore real-world blockchain concepts beyond theory.
TRON Academy is built to give students hands-on experience, direct access to resources, and exposure to how decentralized systems work in practice. At Berkeley, TRON DAO Community Spokesperson Sam Elfarra walked a group of students through the TRON ecosystem, the rise of PayFi, DeFi applications, and the differences between blockchain networks and traditional financial rails. The session wasn’t just high-level talk students engaged deeply, asked critical questions, and explored what Web3 infrastructure can solve in real-world scenarios.
Elfarra highlighted that the mission of TRON Academy is to develop the next generation of builders by giving them practical tools and genuine industry insight. The strong turnout and curiosity mirrored the energy seen at recent TRON Academy sessions across other global campuses, showing how quickly university communities are embracing decentralized technology when they have proper guidance.
After the workshop, TRON DAO met with student leaders to collect feedback and identify ways to improve blockchain programming on campus. The discussions revealed a rising interest in decentralized technologies and a clear desire among students to understand Web3 beyond the hype.
Seeing this level of engagement at UC Berkeley shows that the future of blockchain isn’t being shaped only by companies or investors. It’s being shaped by students who are learning the fundamentals today and will be building tomorrow.
