The market keeps pushing the same "next big chain" narrative every cycle and honestly it's getting old.
What most people forget is that traffic breaks blockchains, not just bad technology. Even Solana, which feels incredibly smooth most of the time, has shown how difficult it is to handle massive demand at scale.
That's why I don't hate the idea behind Genius Terminal as a Layer 1.
Not because every new chain deserves attention, but because expecting one network to handle everything forever doesn't seem realistic. At some point ecosystem load probably needs to be spread across multiple chains.
My biggest question isn't the tech. It's adoption. Getting users, builders, and liquidity to move is where most projects hit reality.
Still, the logic makes sense. The market needs infrastructure that can absorb growth, not just another narrative.
It might work. Or nobody shows up.
