Binance is rolling out a system similar to Polymarket, but they can't implement it in the main app due to regulators.
However, in the WEB3 section, the prediction feature is available and operational.
What makes it special and how does it differ from traditional bookmakers...
First off: you can track active positions via the blockchain.
This means the open system allows you to find successful "predictors" and copy their moves.
Secondly: you can spot "off odds," especially relevant when the market is just starting out.
For example: the odds on the Netherlands are significantly undervalued, just like Belgium.
Over time, these will be balanced out by the crowd, which will yield some profit from the difference, and this can happen even without the teams playing.
Third difference: you don't have to wait for the event to end; you can "exit or dispute" well before the match starts.
So, arbitrage traders will exploit this market later.
I expect that by the start of the World Cup (that's in 3 days), all prediction services will ramp up their promotions, and Binance won't be sitting on the sidelines.
Honestly, it makes me a bit sad that crypto is increasingly turning into gambling and has moved into the "betting service" category.
On the flip side, it's interesting to witness the evolution of the sector....

I took 100$ and picked 10 events, or rather, 10 potential winners for the World Cup 2026. I'll be keeping an eye on them, and when the odds align - I’ll just sell this prediction.
