One of the biggest crypto exploits of 2026 just got even crazier.
The attack reportedly began after an employee's laptop was compromised, giving the attacker access to multiple bridge administration keys. The hacker then gained control of bridge contracts on Ethereum and BNB Chain, drained and minted H tokens, and converted a large portion of the stolen assets into ETH and BNB.
Estimated losses are currently around $32–36 million, and a reported $1 million bounty has now been offered for information that could help identify the attacker or recover the stolen funds.
A brutal reminder that a single compromised device can put tens of millions of dollars at risk.
