Richard Ujueta, president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Electronic Commerce (Cavecom-e), highlighted that the delivery sector has been the key driver of e-commerce, as it has horizontally boosted the economy.
The president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Electronic Commerce (Cavecom-e), Richard Ujueta, stated that Venezuelans have widely adopted everything related to the digital economy.
In this regard, he clarified that the mobile payment sector has been experiencing significant growth, rising from 6,000 transactions per minute in 2025 to over 7,000 operations so far this year.
He mentioned that mobile payments were created to address a crisis caused by blockades, leading to the establishment of a national payment network that also transitioned into the commercial sector.
Richard Ujueta stated that mobile payments have become a major loophole because Venezuelans have gotten used to paying everything via mobile.
He also proposed scaling from P2P (peer-to-peer) payment methods to C2P (commerce-to-person), emphasizing that this evolution is crucial since the C2P system issues digital invoices, allowing for a more formalized e-commerce ecosystem.
"What we propose now is to modify mobile payments and move to C2P (commerce-to-person) mobile payments, which is what's used worldwide and was implemented in Colombia... It's the same thing and the same speed; the only difference is that the request comes from the merchant, but the advantage is that when done this way, digital invoicing can be injected," he explained.
Additionally, the guild member highlighted that for the last quarter of this year, "we will have a more dynamic economy, and we have projected this in an interesting way."
He pointed out on VTV that the delivery sector has been the most significant driver of e-commerce, as it has boosted the economy horizontally, asserting that "consumption moves as the country mobilizes."
