Last night, Bitcoin made a move at around 10 PM, then quickly returned to the vicinity of 92000. Now in the current market, all altcoins, including Ethereum and various other altcoins, are all connected to Bitcoin's path, all integrated with its API. All the trends are almost the same; when you jump, it jumps, and all the coins correspondingly plunge, followed by a rise. Bitcoin rebounds, and others rise along with it. The candlestick patterns over the past few hours are basically all the same technical forms.
You can see that all these trends are identical, which indicates one thing: the current market trends are all mechanical, entirely controlled by robots and quantitative trading. For anyone wanting to beat this market, it is fundamentally too difficult, and the events happen at around 10 PM, 11 PM, 12 PM, or even around 1 AM, which is extremely unfavorable for our Eastern market. So during this time, it’s best to hold back, including today, which has a very high possibility of a significant rise; still, we must control ourselves.
Today, we only discussed one major news piece, and other altcoins are following its trend; the candlestick charts are identical. There isn’t much else to say about the others.
Let’s talk about investing; what exactly do we invest in? Some invest in projects, some in business models, and various other methods. For true investment, it is primarily about the investor. Buffett once said in a speech that if you were to invest 10% of your future funds in someone, what kind of person would you invest in? Many people's first reaction is character; this person must value integrity, so it ultimately comes down to having good character.
If you were to short someone using 10% of your entire future funds, what kind of person would you short? You should short someone with poor character, like Jia Yueting, who is one example. To short someone, they must be on a downward trend, and some may talk nonsense and lack integrity, but ultimately it comes down to character. Therefore, our investments start with appearance but are loyal to character; starting with appearance means gradually understanding someone until you are convinced of their character, which is what we aim to invest in.
Just like Buffett is very optimistic about Tesla, he would never invest in Tesla's stock. He believes that Musk is a very flamboyant person, and many of his commitments do not hold up. Every time he speaks, it tends to be exaggerated, and he ultimately cannot fulfill what he says. He feels that this indicates a flaw in quality, which leads to investments being unsuitable for him; thus, he will not invest in Tesla.
Thus, it ultimately reflects starting with appearance and ending with loyalty to character; this is currently an important theoretical framework for all investments. This means that regardless of any good investment project you encounter, if the person isn't right, then it is not suitable for you to invest in. Because once character issues arise, a person can easily be demonized, ultimately leading to unrealistic actions or unfavorable outcomes.
The Diamond Sutra states that all forms are illusory. If you see that forms are not forms, you see the Tathāgata. When you invest, you cannot be attached to appearances; you must see through appearances to understand the essence. The so-called essence refers to the intrinsic nature. Ultimately, reflecting on the essence allows you to achieve the state of not seeing forms as forms, and only then can you reach the shores of success through a flawless causal relationship.
