#ONDO rises 6% after the closure of the Investigation of #SEC
Clearing the way for the Tokenization of Real Assets #RWA
#OndoFinance , a leading platform specialized in the tokenization of Real World Assets (RWA), has received a significant boost after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ended an investigation against it without filing charges.
The news, announced by the Ondo team on X, removed a large cloud of regulatory uncertainty that had been hanging over the company since the "confidential" investigation began in 2024, during the previous leadership of the SEC under Gary Gensler.
End of the Investigation: The SEC has closed the investigation that focused on two critical aspects:
1. Whether the tokenization of certain RWA by Ondo complied with federal securities laws.
2. Whether the platform's native token, ONDO, constituted an unregistered security.
Opening Signal for RWA: By concluding the investigation without charges, Ondo interprets the decision as an "opening signal" and that it "clears the way for the tokenization of securities". This is crucial implicit support for the emerging and promising RWA sector within decentralized finance (DeFi).
