Share detailed guide for applying for overseas bank cards.
1/Preparation Phase:
- Original ID card, Hong Kong and Macao travel permit (valid for more than 6 months)
- Mobile phone needs to have NFC function (to recognize documents, better to bring two devices)
- Search for overseas internet on Alipay (cheap), purchase the corresponding package in advance, turn on roaming mode after entering Hong Kong
- Bring a type of savings card from mainland China (ZhongAn needs verification)
- Install the corresponding APP in advance
- Remember to bring a power bank
- No need to exchange for Hong Kong dollars, Alipay is sufficient
- After entering Hong Kong (usually within 2 hours), download the entry and exit record PDF in the WeChat mini program Immigration Bureau 12367
2/Hong Kong Card Overview
There are many banks in Hong Kong, just choose a few major ones
Mainly recommend 8 Hong Kong cards: HSBC, ZhongAn, Bank of China, Tsinghua, Ant Group, WeLab, Standard Chartered, Industrial Bank of Asia
The first six can be applied for directly online, basically just click to receive
The last two need to be applied for offline, and there is a certain threshold
If you want to save trouble, just apply for HSBC + ZhongAn two cards is enough
After entering Hong Kong, you can start by finding any WiFi, you can use shop WiFi or connect directly to government WiFi, there are many free WiFi at scenic spots and government venues
3/HSBC ranks first. Enter the “HSBC Mobile Wealth Management” APP, apply for an HSBC One account, which is equivalent to opening an HSBC red lion.
After your application is approved, enter the APP to apply for the blue lion, daily consumption will use the blue lion.
There is a step that requires NFC recognition of the Hong Kong and Macao travel permit, if the recognition error occurs, you can adjust the recognition position, try multiple times, or change the phone (I was stuck for a long time)
(The address must be filled in detail, the two cards will be sent to you according to the address).
4/ZhongAn Bank (many activities, good benefits, good interface)
Directly fill in the information, upload document information, it can be approved in a few minutes.
During the application process, you can fill in my invitation code EW5VC5, registering with the invitation code can get many card opening benefits.
After approval, you can choose whether to apply for a physical card, which requires payment of 35 Hong Kong dollars.
(There is a hidden pit, ZhongAn needs to fill in a mainland savings card, the +86 phone number that receives the verification code must be the reserved phone number at the savings card counter).
